Welcome to Town of 1770 ~ Agnes Water
The township of 1770, site of James Cook’s historic landing on 24 May 1770, is known as the ‘Birthplace of Queensland’. Located along a magical, sun drenched stretch of sub-tropical surf coastline between Bundaberg and Gladstone, and nestled amongst three national parks - the dual township of Agnes Water and 1770 is also the closest southern access point to the Great Barrier Reef.

Agnes Water ~ Town of 1770 is approximately 6 hours drive north of Brisbane. Enjoying a similar climate to Hawaii…Our beaches are clean and unspoiled. The scenery and natural environment is outstanding: magnificent estuaries, coastal rainforests, golden sandy deserted beaches, dramatic sunsets and pure, clean air.

Mango Tree Motel is situated at Agnes Water Surf Beach. Just a stroll through the beach park and you are on the southern protected end of Agnes Water Beach. We are only a short walk away (200 metres) from the shopping centre and cafes of Agnes Water.
